Our Customer's Story
Cheetah Interstate Logistics, a delivery and courier company based in Queens, New York, experienced a slowdown when many of its customers ceased operations in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy. Owner Javaid Gill realized he needed funding to maintain operations during the recovery period as he sought to replace lost clients with new ones.
How Biz2Credit Helped
"Biz2Credit took the time to listen to me. That made all the difference. I've already referred a friend to them, and now I know where to go first if something like this happens again!"
The impact of Hurricane Sandy in October 2012 reached far beyond individuals and businesses not directly affected by the storm.
Small businesses, such as Queens, New York-based Cheetah Interstate Logistics, felt the impact on their bottom line long after the flood waters receded. The delivery and courier company's warehouse and delivery fleet were largely unaffected by the storm. However, many of the company's clients were located in the hardest hit areas of Brooklyn. With several of Cheetah's clients effectively out of business for an unknown length of time, company owner Javaid Gill realized it needed funding to maintain operations during the recovery period and while it sought new clients.
First, Gill turned to his commercial bank. The bank's lengthy application process and lack of personalized service left him unimpressed and frustrated. On the recommendation of a friend, he decided to contact Biz2Credit, visited the website, then called and set up an appointment at the New York office.
"I like a face-to-face meeting, and I knew immediately Biz2Credit cared enough to help me," said Gill, who was impressed by the friendliness and helpfulness with which he was greeted.
Gill completed an application and, as he puts it, "everything fell into line." Within 10 days, Biz2credit was able to help him in securing a $28,000 loan at 14.99% to tide his company through the short-term cash crunch.
With his cash flow problem solved, Gill was able to turn his attention back to his core business. He was able to maintain operations, keeping his fleet on the road and his drivers working. Cheetah kept on working despite the lingering after-effects of the storm.
Today, Gill's client base is recovering and business is strong once again.
