Going Green. Future Green Studio Growth Fueled by Biz2Credit Funding

David Seiter found himself in the right place at the right time when, as a sole proprietor, he founded Future Green Studio in 2008. "It was just me, at the brink of the green revolution," says David.

Future Green Studio stands at the forefront of a national design movement aimed at establishing place and identity through ecological design. It focuses on reclaiming post-industrial landscapes, planning future visions for cities and on greening New York City rooftops. The studio counts private individuals, economic development corporations and government entities among its many clients. Now employing 15 people, Future Green Studio offers site analysis, mapping, model-making, design and implementation in its creation of beautiful spaces and green solutions.

"Our biggest challenge," says David, "has been maintaining an operating capital and sufficient liquidity to support daily operations and foster expansion." David turned to Biz2Credit for help in meeting that challenge.

Despite a long-standing personal and commercial relationship with TD Bank, David was denied a commercial loan in 2009. He tried again, unsuccessfully, to arrange financing with TD in 2010. Seeing the futility in continuing his efforts with the big banks, David sought out small business lender options and came in contact with Biz2Credit.

"I didn't know where to find out about local lenders who would work with my small business," David explains. "Industry-wide, information about loan options available to small business is not easy to find." Biz2Credit, with its wide network of small business lenders, was able to provide that information, and a solution, to David's challenge of finding outside capital for Future Green Studio.

Biz2Credit connected David with Brooklyn Cooperative Federal Credit Union, where he was able to secure an $80,000 business loan. "We provided the necessary paperwork, received our approval, and now have the funds we need to comfortably operate our business," says David.

"Biz2Credit gave us the opportunity to grow as a small business when we were sorely in need of funding to facilitate our growth," David concludes.
